DOGS OF THE MONTH

Basil & Ollie are both 1 year old Jack Russell terriers with tons of energy and are January’s Dogs of the Month!
This dynamic duo keep Mom Jessica and Dad Steve very busy.
While they are certainly not twins, they do share the same love for the park as well as many other daily activities such as catching an afternoon nap in Mommy’s bed! They also prefer to gang up on the family cat while showing off their fancy moves by giving each other 10 with their paws.
If you’ve seen these 2 down at the park they were probably chasing down the tennis balls as they prefer the tennis balls over all the other toys in the basket. Keeps their little legs in shape!
Make sure to congratulate Basil & Ollie if you see them down at the park this month!

Announcement: The Board of Directors will be meeting Tuesday, December 13, 2011.  Click HERE to view the details.

Announcement: Please check out the Salem Gazette article – Group makes space at dog park for petite pup, showing off the newly constructed Small Dog Park!  To view the article, please select the article title or by clicking HERE.

Barking Board: Last weekend members of the board had a small event to help 11 dogs get their 2011 pooch passes. There were healthy doggie cookies and fun play time. If you missed the event and still don’t have your pooch pass there are a few places to get them, see the FAQ’s. We may also hold a few more “at the gate” pooch pass sales during the summer.

Pooch pass sales and other fund raisers pay for park improvements like the small dog park and mud prevention! We are currently discussing options and getting rough cost ideas for long term park improvements like the walkway, bench renovation, fence replacement and resurfacing.

See you at the park!

Announcement: 2011 tags are now available at Parks and Recreation/Council on Aging 5 Broad St. Salem.  Dog owners will need to show dog’s registration, spay/neuter documentation, and proof that rabies is up to date through 2011.
