Dear Dog Park member,
As a Pooch Pass holder, you are a voting member of SPACE, the non-profit organization that created the dog park at Leslie’s Retreat. The purpose of this letter is to give you an update on dog park improvements and plans, and to invite you to our annual meeting at 7:00 PM on April 4, 2011 at the Salem Parks and Recreation Building, 5 Broad Street Salem MA. We will be holding elections for all Board positions.
As you may know, all Pooch Pass proceeds go to a City account for use solely for improvements and upkeep for the dog park. During the fall of 2009, SPACE worked with the City to allocate the Pooch Pass funds for park improvements. Using approximately $7,400, we installed the path, paver seating area, benches, two water spigots, a drainage garden, a water bowl, and plantings. The funds were stretched considerably through donations of material from several local businesses. 2010 funds have not been spent, and SPACE will have substantial influence as to how these funds are used. We need your help, ideas, and input. Please read the attached letter regarding the Annual Meeting, how to be on the ballot should you have an interest in being on the Board of SPACE, and related information.
Sincerely,
Salem SPACE
